Flu Armour N95 Respirators (Masks) offer the latest in advanced protection and comfort. Each respirator was technologically designed to filter out hazardous microscopic particles and effectively protect the wearer's respiratory system. Soft edges and layered material create a tight seal around the face that is made to be comfortably worn for long periods of time. Conversation stays clear and audible with the away-from-face design. In addition, respirators fold flat for portability and convenient storage without being crushed. Breathe easy and breathe safely in a pandemic environment.
This respirator has been evaluated and approved by The National Institute of Occupations Safety & Health (NIOSH) and is cleared by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Note that this product is a Surgical N95 Respirator, not a Surgical Mask. Surgical Respirators undergo more rigorous testing and are designed to both prevent the spread of germs and protect the wearer's respiratory system.
What is the difference between a regular N95 Respirator and a Surgical N95 Respirator?
?Surgical respirators are a type of respiratory protection that offers the combined protective properties of both a filtering facepiece respirator and a surgical mask. Surgical N95 respirators are certified by NIOSH as respirators and also cleared by FDA as medical devices which have been designed and tested and shown to be equivalent to surgical masks in certain performance characteristics (resistance to blood penetration, biocompatibility) which are not examined by NIOSH during its certification of N95 respirators? Those respirators that are surgical N95 respirators are also cleared by the FDA and, therefore, are appropriate for circumstances in which protection from airborne and body fluid contaminant is needed.?
-Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for an Influenza Pandemic
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), February 2007
OSHA regulation 1910.134 requires fit testing of all respirators prior to use in order to determine if proper fit is attainable. Individual facial features, including facial hair, may prevent proper fit. Qualitative Bitrex Respirator Fit Test Kits for OSHA compliance are available on our product menu.
Disposable N95 Respirators (masks) cannot be effectively cleaned or disinfected. All masks should be discarded after each use. Please note that masks and other related supplies may become limited in the event of heightened pandemic flu activity.
